An updated DWF creation application will be coming. It will be named AutoCAD 2007. It was code named "Postrio." We name some of our projects after cities such Sedona or Tahoe. The previous AutoCAD development project was called Rio. Before we could pick a follow-up city name, people kept saying things like "We will implement that in post-Rio" - meaning after we were done with Rio. The name took hold. It is also a San Francisco restaurant.
In terms of DWF, publishing 3D DWF files has become a full fledged feature. In AutoCAD 2006, it was a technology preview. Now in addition to the 3DDWFPUBLISH command line option, 3D DWF publishing has been integrated into the AutoCAD User Interface.
A long requested feature, including a DWF file as an underlay, has been included. The DWFATTACH works much like an XREF but uses a DWF instead of a DWG.
We are all very excited about AutoCAD 2007. You will certainly hear more in the coming weeks.
