AutoCAD 2007 3D DWF limitation: scaled to fit textures

Paul Li of Altoon Porter Architects is an AutoCAD 2007 user. He created a 3D solid using the extrude command. Knowing that 3D DWF files can have materials, he created a new material with a specified texture map that was "Scaled to Fit" the object. Paul applied the material using the CTRL feature to just the top surface of the 3D solid. He then used the Planar Mapping command to adjust the map on the 3D solid surface.

Paul then published a 3D DWF. The resultant DWF file showed an incorrect application of the material mapping. Paul noted that if he applied the map to the entire object without being "Scaled to Fit," the resultant 3D DWF file showed it correctly. Fellow Autodesk employee Nilanjan Bhattacharya confirmed that this is currently an AutoCAD limitation. When the "Scaled to Fit" option is set, the mapping does not transfer properly into the 3D DWF file. Correcting this has been added to the list for a future release.
