Microsoft .NET 3.0 Framework includes DWF (.dwfx) Viewing Capability

Xps_hero

All of us are very excited about native DWF viewing on the new Microsoft Vista operating system. For those users who are not yet ready to move to Microsoft Vista, you can have the same experience by installing the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 and the XPS Essentials Pack on operating systems like Windows XP.

  1. Microsoft Pre-Release Software Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 - Release Candidate
  2. Microsoft XPS Essentials Pack

After installing, you can try a simple test by looking at a simple XPS file.

Download simple.xps (256.9K)

It should come up in the Microsoft XPS Viewer.

We will be releasing the ability to publish XPS-compliant DWF files as part of our product offerings. Look for them in the months ahead. The evolution of DWF and its convergence with the Microsoft XPS standard will do wonders for Autodesk customers who wish to share their designs with an ever widening audience.
