The DWF Toolkit is used by Autodesk developers to read and write DWF files. Other companies also use the toolkit to support DWF in their own products.
A new version of the DWF Toolkit was released today - version 7.2.1. This version provides programmers with the ability to read DWF files published by AutoCAD 2007 (and AutoCAD 2007 based products). The toolkit also supports DWF files marked up using Autodesk Design Review 2007. This version of the toolkit also reads DWF files published by the Autodesk Inventor 11 DWF Extension. The DWF Toolkit handles both 3D and 2D DWF files. Although this new version supports DWF files published from the most recent Autodesk design software, it also handles any previous DWF files created - even those as far back as AutoCAD R13.
The DWF Toolkit can be downloaded by serious C++ developers at:
The toolkit contains header files, cpp files, sample programs, documentation, and the DWF specification. The toolkit is available in source-only or pre-compiled zip and tar files for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux.
The DWF Toolkit is downloaded by hundreds of developers each week. Got C++? Join the crowd and read and write your own DWF files. The ability for other companies to add value to what DWF has to offer is another way DWF goes beyond the paper.
