A programmer known only to the Autodesk DWF discussion group as TheUnknown is working on a plugin to load 3D DWF files into his modeling tool. He thought it would be a nice idea to write down his mind states during the process and catch the workflow in the form of some notes that may benefit other DWF programmers. He noted that although documentation on the DWF file format and the supplied API is not rare nor sparse and these notes add nothing new, they are just what he wished he had when he started to avoid wandering through piles of documentations for hours. The notes will be updated as the plugin is not complete yet:
In the words of Donald Rumsfeld: "The are known unknowns, and there are unknown unknowns." I guess we have to put TheUnknown in the known Unknown category at this time. Thanks for investing the time to document your experience. I know others will be eager to know what you know.
