Software Quality Assurance Engineer, Mu Junfu, reports that after a user installs the DWF Writer for 2D, the Autodesk DWF toolbar will appear in ArcGIS automatically, but the Autodesk DWF menu item will not appear automatically.
To work around this ArcGIS issue, you need to add the Autodesk DWF menu item manually:
To add the Autodesk DWF menu item to ArcGIS, you double click the blank poison of ArcGIS toolbar. ArcGIS pops up the Customize dialog. You select the Commands tab, click the item Menus from the left list view, and the item Autodesk DWF appears in the right list view.
You select and drag the item Autodesk DWF to the Menu bar. The symbol "I" will appears:
You release the Mouse left button and the Autodesk DWF menu item appears in the Menu bar.
If at a later date you want to remove the Autodesk DWF menu item, you drag the Autodesk DWF menu item from the Menu bar to the Customize dialog. The Autodesk DWF menu item is removed.
The ability to publish DWF files from Autodesk as well as non-Autodesk applications allows DWF files to capture all project information in one file. This makes sharing an entire project's worth of data, regardless of its origin, very convenient. The ability to electronically send one file with all of the data, distribute then print, goes beyond the traditional processing of printing then distributing the paper.
