Released IE7 Hotfix: DWF Composer R2

In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released a Hotfix for Autodesk DWF Composer R2 that addresses compatibility issues with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.

Installation Instructions:

1. Download dwfcomposer2_ie7_hotfix.zip (all languages)
2. Unzip dwfcomposer2_ie7_hotfix.zip.
3. Double click on DWFComposer2IE7Hotfix.msi to install.

Known Issues Corrected By This Hotfix:

• When the Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 beta is installed, the main menu in DWF Composer 2 does not display.
  Solution: Apply the appropriate Hotfix to the DWF program(s).
• When trying to view Web pages containing an embedded DWF viewer control, "Access is denied" errors display.
  Solution: In Internet Explorer 7, choose Tools > Internet Options. On the Security tab, select the Local Intranet zone and set the security level to Medium-low.
• When using a JavaScript UI to interact with an embedded DWF viewer control, random "Permission denied" errors display.
  Solution: This issue seems to have been corrected via structural changes to code in the DWF ActiveX Controls. These structural changes have no direct impact on how the controls function. Apply the appropriate Hotfix to the DWF program(s).

Although the IE7 hotfix has been incorporated into a service pack for Autodesk Design Review 2007, there are no plans for a service pack for Autodesk DWF Composer R2. The IE7 hotfix is being released to restore proper operation for DWF Composer R2 users who have upgraded to Internet Explorer 7.
