Hotfix - Autodesk Design Review 2009 SP1

We have just released a Hotfix to our website which tackles the following issues:

1. From within Design Review, the Save As command requires the open file to be saved as either a DWF or DWFx file. Externally, the SaveAs API does not have the same requirement, allowing files to be saved with any file extension resulting in a potential security issue.
2. Rapidly switching between Design Review and other programs may result in an EModelViewer error message, causing Design Review to stop responding.

The fix itself consists of an updated DLL for each of the problems. The ecompositeviewer.dll resolves the SaveAs problem and the emodelviewer.dll takes care of the rapid 3D switching crash.

Showcase Your Success

You may ask how? Well, it is not all that far fetched nor does it come at great expense.

All it would take is to explain how you got to achieve success and share some images and company background information. Did I mention (yet), that Autodesk Design Review or DWF should play an integral part in this? Absolutely!

Seriously - the Autodesk Design team is looking for customer success stories and we would love to share them, with your permission, with other customers. Some will be shared during presentation and classes at Autodesk University 2008 and others may even find their way on to Autodesk's website.

After all, you could use this opportunity to showcase your company's success through a Customer Success Story - and generate awareness both externally and within your own company.

How about it?

Interested parties could start by highlighting one thing they are particularly proud of, for example a best practice, specific benefit or custom solution they have realized with Autodesk Design Review or DWF. They could also add a DWF/x, screen-shots, URLs or other sample data they wish to share.

Autodesk Design Review 2010 Beta Launch

We recently launched our public Beta for Autodesk Design Review 2010 and feedback has been very encouraging so far. Fantastic teamwork allowed us once more to not only add a new user interface but also to include some of the feature requests submitted, including highlighter, security features, digital signatures and more.

I highly recommend for customers to join our Autodesk Design Review 2010 Beta program. I am certain that you won't be disappointed by the enhancements we added.

To enroll in the Autodesk Design Review 2010 Beta please go to: http://myfeedback.autodesk.comand select Sign up from the Active Zone Menu. You will then be asked to fill out a profile. Please use "DANUBE" in the Beta Code field (at the top of the sign up page) and select “Autodesk Design Review” as your product of interest.  You will be emailed a password for the general site once the Beta team has reviewed your application and approved you.

If you are already a member of the MyFeedback Beta community (http://myfeedback.autodesk.com) you do NOT need to sign up. Instead login to the Beta community and click on the User button found at the top of the page.  Please add "DANUBE" in the Beta Code field and click Save at the bottom of your user profile.
