Some users have come across the "adlmPITSetProductInformation failed" during the installation of one of Autodesk's 2010 based products.
The message "adlmPITRemoveProductInformation failed" indicates a possible corruption in the "ProductInformation.pit" file. The solution to this problem is to manually remove the file and to repeat the installation process.
You can find the "ProductInformation.pit" in the following location:
Microsoft Windows XP
C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pitMicrosoft Windows Vista
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pit

If you install the product first time, create %Drive%:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ADLM
I received this error on both AutoCAD 2010 and AutoCAD 2012. Autodesk folder was "Read-only", I permit "Everyone" with "Full access" and done! Just added "ADLM" folder and installation was flawless.
